Meet the people behind the scenes! Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra is unique in that our musicians help run the inner workings of the ensemble. Our Board also collaborates for personnel management, box office management, general operations, library duties, concert planning, and production.
Music Directors
Nikhil Bartolomeo, Music Director for the 2024-25 Season
Nikhil Bartolomeo is a conductor, clarinetist, and woodwind doubler based in NYC. Engaging his diverse areas of interest, Nikhil enjoys exploring the intersection between jazz, classical music, and new music. Nikhil currently holds the position of second clarinet with the Schenectady-Saratoga Symphony Orchestra, and regularly performs with Albany Symphony, the American Modern Ensemble, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Hudson Festival Orchestra, Long Island Concert Orchestra, and the Little Opera Theatre of NY. He can be heard on Bradley Ellingboe’s StarSong playing clarinet, on Eric Schorr’s New York Pretending to Be Paris playing multiple clarinets and saxophones, and has recorded on numerous forthcoming releases by Albany Symphony. A founding member and Co-Director of Voyager Reed Quintet, Nikhil has functioned as the in-house arranger for the ensemble, bringing several new works to the reed quintet medium. Nikhil is currently a Doctoral candidate in clarinet performance at Stony Brook University.
Nicolás Gómez Amín , Music Director (on leave)
From Santiago, Chile, Nicolás began playing the violin at seven years old, earning his Bachelor's degree in Music Performance in 2022 from the Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where he studied under Professor Kurt Nikkanen and was a recipient of the President's International Piano and Strings Quintet Scholarship. Through the years, Nicolás has performed as a soloist, concertmaster, recitalist, and chamber musician in important concert halls in Chile, the United States, and Greece.
As a conductor, Nicolás is the Music Director of the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he promotes a combination of the standard repertoire with lesser-known works and new music. He is also a regular Guest Conductor at Berks Sinfonietta and served as the President and Music Director of the Chamber Players of Kutztown University, Guest Conductor at the Kutztown University Orchestra, and Assistant Director of the Kutztown University Choir. Nicolás has studied under conductors Peter Isaacson and Pablo Carrasco and has participated in masterclasses and workshops with John Thomas Dodson, Donald Portnoy, Kate Tamarkin, Peter Jaffe, Victoria Bond, and Georgios Vranos. Since September 2023, he has been a member of the Graduate Conducting Program at the Bard College Conservatory, where he studies under Maestro James Bagwell.
